Trump is cutting China oil supply ?

 Trump teleported Maduro in a US prison, and he threatened that it will do the same with other south American leaders 

The Venezuelan vice president declared that it would sell the oil headed for China to the US.

Protests in Iran, against Regine because of high inflation. If Iran regime fails or there will be a civil war, another Chinese supply is cut.

An Russian oil tanker is boarded and seized by US Navy.

A threat to Russia ? Cut the supply to China or else we will do the same with all your shadow fleet so you will have to finish the war in defeat ?

Play nice with us and you will get Donbas and a nice exit out of the war .

We are back at siege warfare

 We think that we are in trench warfare because we saw trenches dug in Ukraine but at geopolitical level we are at siege warfare level. 

Russia can't conquer the west of Europe, even if it would break all the NATO countries, because it will inherit a poor territory. The riches of the West are due to its know how and industries, once they are gone Europe is a nice museum. They consumed their natural resources in the last 300 years.

Western Europe is an ideological threat to Russia, and Russia can't remain indiferent.

Because it can't conquer western Europe Russia uses siege tactics: it lay waste to the territories near Europe fortress so the refugee flee to Europe and consume resources: the war in Syria, Ukraine provided a big cohort of refugees, now they directly help refugees to cross the polish border.

It cuts supplies to Europe from Africa: Sahel countries that supplied France with minerals pivoted to Russia.

It divides the decision making in Europe using politicians like Orban,Fico and Babies 

In the other side Europe can't conquer Russia, mainly because nobody wants to die in a war, Russian nuclear weapons and the wastes of Russian territory. So Europe applies the tactic of a besieged: it hopes to tire and exhaust the besieger till it gives up.

It imposes sanctions and searches new sources of energy and raw materials.

The advantage of Europe is that is doesn't have to go in a war economy mode. Only the eastern flank countries should do it.

Also the large Maritime infrastructure allows import of materials from America,Africa, Australia,Canada. This allows a greater flexibility.

Decisions under emotional stress

 Sometimes we take decisions to control our emotions like fear, joy, lust.

Sometimes we take decisions to solve problems.

We must know the difference.

We must delay the decision making till the emotions calm down.

Or we should damp the emotions with something else.

Like taking deep breaths when we are afraid.

Why the European peasant is powerful mythical figure

 The trade deal Mercosur European Union has failed. Mainly because farmers opposition against cheap food imported from South America.

Some said that the trade deal is vital for EU and farmers should face the economic competition and close shop if they can't compete.

First competition is not fair. South America doesn't apply the same protection of biodiversity. 

So in the worst case European farmers will be bankrupt, Europe will be food dependent, big landowners will slash another hectare of amazonian rain forest to respond to the food demand and this for selling more cars in south America.

When you close a farm in Europe, you kill a tradition.

Peasants were the backbone of the nation state.

What we speak now in Europe are peasants dialects. Before 1600 all correspondence of the higher classes was in Latin in Western Europe, and in Slavonic in Eastern Europe, Greek and ottoman Turkish in south east.

Since 19 century the national identity was of peasant extraction. Folk songs inspired symphonies, peasants were depicted in pictures.

Peasants had a political influence long before 19 century. Thier riots ,jaqueries, Bauernkriegs shaped politics forcing the ruling class to concede some rights., and make society more egalitarian.

In conclusion the peasants shaped the national identity and political mindsets, so for countries to vote against them is to vote against their own identity.

Collapse of Spanish empire as a cautionary tale for Europe

 Spanish empire was the first one in which the sun never set. But borrowing on future revenues for paying for today expenses ruined commercially.

Also the inbreeding of the Habsburg monarch didn't help. After the death of Carlos 3 without an heir the 7 years war started.

The end of Spanish empire was sealed by the attack of their ally Napoleon Bonaparte, who decided to invade them.

Europe had a period of prosperity which allowed indebtness when times were though.

And times got though, the entrance of China in World trade organization, the wars middle East, COVID, war in Ukraine increased debt. 

The political scene is in read also, for years we see the same faces, in France for example we have Macron,Zenour,Melanchon et LePen. Only recently LePen was replaced with Bardela.

In UK, Starmer,Corbyn, Johnson,Cameron.

Rishi Sunak was a kind of outlier. For me it seemed more competent.

In Germany Schröder and Merkel stayed too much.

Ursula von der Leyen seems to stay forever as head of European commission.

In Romania the power is cycled between PSD and PNL parties, everyone cycling the same people at power.

EU ally, USA is ditching it for Russia. 

Without a reform and new people, EU will be like Spain civil war in 20 century, with a powerful nationalist movement against some radicals supported by Moscow.

Only now the nationalists are supported by Moscow.

AI as a cultural phenomena

There are several technical disappointments. 

One is the cryptocurrency. Heralded as harbinger of financial autonomy, now it is used for money laundering.

The other is AI, the saviour of humanity that could cure cancer and heal the ecological disaster, is making fake photos and it makes conversation.

It seems that the now science is performative. You don't have to discover something to change the world, you must make a nice presentation.

AI now is chatty and more socially skilled.

Maybe that will help some guys with social anxiety.

I think the AI will be the mediocrity and it will force real talented people to stand out 

Like in Renaissance when every nobleman was an amateur artist and you had to be a Michelangelo to impress.
