How you separate from stupid people

 I just saw the movie "Don't look up" from 2021 in which a divided US cannot stop a comet hitting the Earth and destroying life 

In nature dumb and weak animals are eaten by predators and herd is improving.

But the humanity,large groups in general depend on taking colective decisions. 

For example a country cannot go 30% to a war, either will go 100% either will lose.

And you stop stupid people to steer the decision in wrong direction?

Who are stupid people? All of us. When we act in a domain that we don't have experience, knowledge or talent.

Jan Hus the Czech religious reformer when he faced inquisition in Rome, he saw an old woman carrying a bundle of wood for his pyre, waiting for the end of his trial, and he said: "Sancta simplicity's" holy stupidity.

An illiterate woman understood what he as a scholar who read latin and Greek didn't. That he was already sentenced.

Another case: after Henry viii separated from church of Rome and created Anglican church, it was a riot of peasants lead by learned men like lawyers and noble men.

Henry VIII beeing cornered, demanded that rebels to send some envoys to negotiate. The leaders offered to meet the king, but they discounted the advice of peasants to demand hostages as guarantee of their safe returns.

The rebel leaders were cought , executed and revelion routed.

So how we separate Stupids so they don't affect the community?

How we can separate people so only they pay for their mistakes and not others ?

Refinament of each civilisation shows it's main values

 Each civilisation pushes to the limit one main characteristic.

Egyptians pushed to the limit the tomb building because they believed in afterlife.

Chinese believed in the emperor's heaven mandate, a built big tombs and palaces for them 

Greeks pushed to the limit the representation of perfect human in the arts 

Romans perfected engineering and resource extractions.

Europe till renaissance and Spain till 1700 built the best and the tallest churches because they believed in God.

Renaissance believed in human and tried to live hedonistically.

Dutch and later British believed in thrift and gaining money and they perfected stock exchange and banking.

 If one meets a person that helps him, then he will help another and so on, and social chain reaction will be created.

If one the contrary one meets a person that doesn't help him, he will not help other and social interactions will fall

How you will be changed by algorithms?

 The people who lived in communism are peculiar.

They don't trust people. Anyone could be an informant for government.

They don't share feelings, problems, anything can be used against them.

This behavior was an adaption to a surveillance state.

How you will adapt to current surveillance state and to current manipulation ?

Now not only the state wants your secrets but the sales men.

Liberal, fascist, left wing, liberal,... Repeat

 Fascism appeared when liberal ruled failed, economy was captured by an oligarchy.

The laws were ignored by rich, poor didn't believed the system.

People needed a leader loial to them, who has a personal bond.

When the leader failed to deliver, people become more decentralized and more left wing.

The benefits became spread more equally, economy developed and liberal middle class and upper class took control.

Till the economy concentrated in the hand of few, and then system colapsed and fascism appeared again.

The dynamic is very visible in western Europe but not in US, because Franklin Delano Roosevelt broke the cycle and jumped directly to socialism, by his reforms.

Why Cain killed Abel

 In Old Testament in book of Genesis we have the story of an envious brother who kills Abel because Abel had the grace of God.

What could stopped the envy of Cain to escalate into murder would have been a common value between Abel and Cain.

In a boxing match do you think that the loser envies the winner?

I doubt.

Why ?

We have clear value:  the one that beats the other is the best.

And we got an instant feedback.

Also every participant could improve his skills.

In Cain and Abel story, Abel buys the favor of God with great sacrifices, we don't know why he is better or chosen one.

We don't have a feedback, Cain works more but receives less 

Cain can't do anything to improve his relationship with God.

US is like in Cain and Abel story, you don't have a clear valuation of people, 2 old demented guys were presidents.

You don't have a feedback, you work more but your factory is closed and moved overseas.

There are opportunities in tech but you have to buy a course from university.

Interesting the pilgrims who colonized new England were a Calvinists in their theology and thought that God rewards you on this world.

Maybe Israel took this time US friendship for granted if they attacked Iran without consulting with US.

There are 2 reasons why US won't invade Iran:

1. If it commits it's forces there it leaves Taiwan unprotected and China will seize the opportunity to take it.

Losing Taiwan, Chinese submarines can approach undetected from US west coast, and Chinese navy will roam free in Pacific.

If US responds to China, it is WW3 and US will be stretched in Ukraine,Iran and China

2. British and French controlled their colonies by antagonizing the local tribes and being kind of referee. 

US has the same role between Israel, Saudi Arabia and Iran.

If Iran is gone, those countries don't need US.

How to deviate public discourse

Elon Musk and Donald Trump divorced.

Elon put bitter post on X former Twitter accusing Trump that he is in Epstein files and that why the files are not released.

Instead of media jumping with questions in Elon like: What do you know more Elon?

We know that Trump and Epstein went to parties together and liked younger women , but do you have any proof of something illegal.

Instead the media focuses Elon's character:

If you knew that Trump is doing something illegal, why do you support him ?

And now the right wing media discovers Elon's ketamine consumption.

This is seen by left and right wing vloggers.

Elon it is right, US need a third party to make political life more competitive.

MAGA in US and AUR in Romania are political movements that are not properly represented in politics.

They are a cauldron of economic frustrations. And no political party seems to be capable to address these frustrations. 

In '30 in US, the frustrations were higher but you got FDR administration to address directly.

Now you have Trump administration who seemed preoccupied with kicking out as many emigrantyas possible and changing tarifs every week 

United States was created by plantation owners, at end of 18 century.

Then emigration and industrialisation pushed aside the plantation owners at the end of civil war.

Since then US rose higher and higher. Won 2 world wars and a cold one.

One major factor of this was emigration of skilled workers. 

US benefited from educated, ambitious,working able men, like Nikola Tesla, Andrew Carnegie to use it's economic resources to the max. 

Sure immigration brought also big criminals like Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky.

Brasil,Russia they are same size as US, they have economic resources but they are not matching US 

Why ? Because these countries had entrenched oligarchies who didn't allow emigrants fresh of the boat to become industrialists.

US system allowed Elon Musk to become who is today.

Trump's and Bannon's policies will stop 2 flows that pushed america forward: international trade and emigration. 

Maybe this will lead to less innovation, less competitiveness, and US will transform in a exporter of commodities and weapons like Russia.

The incoming crisis should be handled by competent people and none of the parties seems to do it.

US needs a party to renew the politics, and bridge gaps been left and right.

US universities produce scholastics?

 The theologian of middle ages, wasted time debating if the angels have sex.

After them came the impericist who tested hypothesis.

Also in same period we have the renaissance man who knew few trades and he could use this to check if the hypothesis is correct (Leonardo da Vinci, knew to cast bronze,paint, sculpt, build complicated machinery)

After that came the nature philosophers like Newton who tested their knowledge against nature.

German university were the first ones who used research.

And now in 21 century we are back at scholastics.

I just saw a video of US history professor who lectured about Aztecs and he said that in war they wrestled their enemies they captured them and they sacrificed one year later.

As anyone who studied self defence, the best way to defend against a wrestler is to stick a sharp object in to some blood vessels or in the eye or  throat.

The Aztecs and their enemies had obsidian blades, they could sharp an antler, or a thick branch and use it, if they wanted to avoid a heart surgery on the top of the temple.

And the 'profesor' laughed and said that mist of the people don't use their brain 

I don't want to publish the name of the profesor because I hope he fades in to obscurity.

Honestly I expected more from US universities, I expected more a pragmatic no nonsense approach, in which the hypothesis are strongly scrutinized.

It is not the only case: I have read a study that showed that make hands evolved for punching.

How to fix democracy

 Democracy is failing, first election of Donald Trump twice, a finale between two olde men, Trump and Biden, the succes of an candidate created by TikTok in România: Georgescu. The eternisation of Orban and Erdogan at the helm of their countries. Right wingers having succes everywhere. EU leaders that are not elected.

All these are symptoms of a system that is not working properly.

What is democracy?

Democratic Republic of North Korea is not democratic, while the monarchies of UK, Netherlands,Belgium,Spain are.

So the democracy is not in the name of the regime, but a system in which decisions are take by a colective, directly or indirectly through temporary representatives. All European monarchs are just figure heads.

The simplies form of democracy is a group of people who decide a course of action to solve a problem.

Let's suppose that a group of Athenians want to build a wall to protect against Persians.

The problem is observable for all.

All they are affected.

They can understand their problem, and know how to fix it.

They can evaluate the results of building the wall because every Athenian build his own house.

They have moral and patriotism and they vote in the best interest of the city.

Because the problem is observable, understandable, citizens have expertise and they don't have incentive to cheat, they will take a good decision.

Let's take another problem.

Spies inform that persians are gathering a large army and the best solution is to attack first.

First the problem is observable by few, and citizens are not feeling the impact.

Even if they have all the information, they can't understand that all the scattered information shows that persians are preparing for attack.

How many have expertise to lead an army? Maybe 100 people. If the rest is against those people can't do nothing. They have to use rethoric, and the common denominator: emotion, to convince the Athenians to act.

Maybe some merchants have businesses with Persians and don't want to jeopardize them, and they vote against attack, and maybe they betray Athens.

The modern democracy has solved some of the problems, but introduced others.

Due to mass-media citizens can observe far away problems.

But mass media is used to manipulate.

Due to universal education citizens can understand better the problem and take a decision 

By using a representative democracy and a state bureaucracy, the specialists are taking the right decisions in time.

But this lead to nepotism and corruption.

Intermingling of the rich citizens with undemocratic regimes, make those to undermine democratic interests.

In conclusion in order to have a functional modern democracy mass media must inform, school must educate, competent people must be promoted, representatives must respect their electors and rich people shouldn't do business with undemocratic countries.

 I see a lot of Trump and Russian supporters saying that Zelensky should have bended the knee and accept any shitty deal from Trump.

In Middle Ages the were seniors and vassals.

Seniors protected military the vassals, and vassals supported seniors with goods,money and troops.

No senior had the right to take the land of vassals.

If that happened the vassals had the right to rebel.

In European history there are numerous cases of wars started by conflicts between seniors and vassals.

Kings also showed the respect to their vassals otherwise they would have weaken the authority of their vassals in the eyes of their men.

The relation between US and smaller allies is of vassalage. US is the senior.

This is tacitly accepted because is beneficial for both sides.

If Trump wanted to Zelensky to bend the knee, he had to behave like Senior, protect his vassal and show him respect 

But instead he behave like the manager of a company, who wanted to fire Zelensky after a bad performance.

EU fragmentation could be an advantage

 The hostile takeover of US showed centralized leadership weakny. You take a spot and you rule the administration.

EU is fragmented and even if you take the role of Ursula you can't rule the Europe.

You have to take each country one by one.

The hardest to take over are monarchies: UK,Spain, Belgium Netherlands, Denmark,Sweden, Norway.

The second hardest are the Russia's neighbors that are not orthodox: Finland, Estonia, Letonia, Lituania,Poland.

Russia tried and failed to take over France via FN and Germany via Schröder, but these countries have their own powerful elites to block Moscow interest.

Except Czech republic, Slovakia and Hungary fell under Russian spell, they don't have the resources to resist alone, they don't have their own elites to be independent.

Maybe the crush of the Prague spring in '68, keeps Czech far from Russia.

Romania is more complicated.

There are elites that are pro Russian or anti western, and Russians leverage the influence of orthodoxy, but the hatred and fear of Russia in Romania is compared only with that of Poland.

Romania is pull rope between Russia, Europe and US now.

Their weakness is that they bet everything on US.

They bet everything on France and Britain in '30.

Bulgaria had string ties with Soviet Union, it is a Slavic and orthodox county it could be influenced easily.

Greece is an Orthodox country, had good relations with Russia in past, Russia had supported the Greek independence early.

Italy is more complicated they might use personal ties with Moscow for their own benefit. And the country is divided.

So Russia can't take over all EU by supporting its own candidates in the elections.

But it can block any initiative that requires consensus.

I think any decisions should be taken with 2/3 majority, to isolate countries like Hungary that supports Putin

Open letter to J D Vance

 I have listened the speech of vice president Vance, and in general he said that we must listen the voice of people, and risk sometimes with people decision.

Mister Vance, Germany risked once in 1933, with some fringe group and it ended badly in 1945.

European countries can't risk, they don't have an ocean between them and their enemies, if they make the wrong move, they disappear from the map.

So electing a fringe group is out of questions, and we have enough experience with fringe groups, we know how they look like.

True, the politicians refused to discuss some important issues like emigration s for fear of looking far right. And these issues must be solved by actual political elite so we don't have fringe movements.

But we don't need freaks to rule us.

George Carlin said: "you know how stupid the average person is? Well half of population is stupider than that"

With well done propaganda, and social media, you can convince more than 30% to vote against its own interests, and the if the rest of 70% is splited to take power.

Hitler had 30% popular suport when he took Germany.

4 types of people

Based on selfishness and long term thinking there's are 4 types of people:

Selfish and short term thinking: the selfish bastard that you don't want to work.

Selfish and long term thinking: the backstabber that climbs on corpses to reach his goal.

Altruistic and short term thinking's: the sucker who will be used by the types above.

Altruistic and long term thinking: the leader, the diplomat who will foster long term relationships. Usually victim of back stabber.

No China US war for next 4 years, because of Trump

 Those who claim that China will invade Taiwan next week and start a war with US think as Europeans or Americans.

Chinese are thinking differently.

They are long term thinkers.

In US and to some extent in Europe the Chinese stereotype is of one a person's who excels in intellectual endeavours.

And those intelectual endeavours require patience and long term commitment.

Also I know a Chinese story about a butcher who never sharped his knife.

Sun Tzu says that you should start a battle when you won it before.

So why CCP should hurry to attack now?

When it could wait 4 years till Trump and Musk run everything a ground and US doesn't have allies.

When US will be weak with internal fights then it will offer Taiwan a offer that they can't refuse.

China attacked India a greater foe but it didn't conquered Macao a city 'defended' by a small and weak Portugal.

It preferred to take it peacefully because it was more effective.

I think a resurgence of US after Trump will trigger a war with China, because China will not see another opportunity.

Musk the wedge between EU and US

 It seems that Elon Musk's fascist salute, is an expression of Musk's involvement in European nationalist and xenophobic politics in EU and UK.

(In US Musk is pro immigration, but it n UE, UK is against, strange)

What is interesting is that nobody from Trump administration doesn't stop him 

Brexit has destabilized Europe. The old was held together by cooperation of 3 former enemies: UK,France and Germany.

Aggressive involment of Musk in EU politics, and the fact that Whitehouse or State Dept doesn't reign him in, will deepen divides between US and EU. 

Which will be the joy of Beijing who tries for years to woo away EU from US .
